Friday Night Sew-In, It’s Cold! & the Pine Siskins Arrive

Yay! It’s the Friday Night Sew-In tomorrow!

I look forward to spending my evening working on my Phoenix project and listening to a few good podcasts while I sew.

Tomorrow is also payday, so I look forward to trading my paper towels in for actual toilet paper and I think I may even splurge a little and buy some laundry detergent. Yippee! šŸ˜›

No work, no pay. My week of the flu has put a severe crimp into my free-spending style. (j/k — and I will let you guess whether I’m joking about my free-spending style or whether I’ve decided to keep spending except when it comes to paying bills.)

My mother must have sent her flock of Pine Siskins down to my house. She told me yesterday they were eating her out of house and home, and I complained that I didn’t have any. Dang! I wish I hadn’t said anything!

It’s COLD out tonight! It’s not even 6 o’clock and it’s already 36 degrees. I’m FREEZING in here! Time to turn up the heat.

  1. Toilet paper AND laundry detergent? You crazy kid!

  2. Oh, Pine Siskins!! I love them. They are very tame and may eat right out of your hand. One time I walked right up to the feeder and coaxed one onto my finger! ~karen

    • What? Really?? Now that they have found the porch feeders maybe I can get a decent shot at them. My camera needs good light and a close up view for a good picture. My regular feeder birds are really good about posing, I wasn’t so sure about this new little flock.

  3. LOVE that last picture – those beautiful wings. Sigh.

I don’t know – I think I’d definitely want the toilet paper, but doesn’t getting laundry detergent mean that you have to do laundry? Unless you’re out of clean underwear I’d wait a few days šŸ™‚

    • Actually, the laundry detergent is for my dog. She has skin allergies and I’m out of the “free” detergent to was her blankets with. Besides, I LOVE doing laundry. My youngest son once accusing me of washing stuff just cuz it wasn’t moving and he always made sure to keep moving around me. šŸ˜› Ha!

  4. i am sorry that you have to cut back – how well I know that place!
