Sometimes It Just Dawns On You

I went with my mother to see her nutritionist, Eleanor, yesterday. Her doctor sent her there because she is this close (picture my thumb and index finger real, real, real close) to being a diabetic. Her nutritionist says she’s so close she figures she is already there. Time for a major lifestyle change.

Basic instructions: eat good food, don’t eat bad food, move around as much as possible.

The details: go Gluten-Free for at least the next two weeks, eat organic as much as possible, eat fish twice a week, a serving of beans each day, mixed meals and snacks with protein, carb and good fat, no processed or refined foods, no starchy vegetables, no artificial sweetener, no MSG, plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Melanie Roach, Olympic weightlifter, is also a client of Eleanor, the nutritionist. How exciting is that?!

Sometimes it just dawns on you, and it’s time to start over.
