Day 12 of The Big Snow & Playing with Ruth B. McDowell on Christmas Eve

24playingwithruth2-1More snow. More play with Ruth B. McDowell methods of piecing and design.

I pulled together this little top with broad, general guidelines as to color and value placement. I told myself it was a study to determine if Good Design could triumph no matter the how weak the color and value skills of the artist. . .then I had to admit (to myself) that I just didn’t want to plan out my fabric placement and was impatient to get something, anything Ruth-ie created.

There will be plenty of time for planned piecing – later.

Happy day before Jesus’ birthday!

“No work is insignificant. All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.” –Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
