Winter Landscape: My First Original-ish Ruth-esque Block

Winter, 6" square

Winter, 6" square

I believe unequivocally and absolutely in starting small when learning a new technique or style of quilt making.

If you enter unfamiliar or previously unexplored quilting territory with the great ambition of creating a queen-sized quilt in time for your mother’s birthday only 2 weeks away, you are setting yourself up for failure, guilt, and another inelegant, expensive addition to your UFO pile.

Why not start small and simple. Treat yourself to the joys of learning a new skill without all the pressures of forced accomplishment and deadline dread. This is supposed to be FUN!

And if it ain’t fun, stop doing it. Treat yourself right, you deserve it!
