Perhaps a deliberate display of a particularly awful attempt at artistry should be one of the steps in the Perfectionists Anonymous 12-step program.

The Spring Landscape (upper right corner) is a perfect example of imperfection.

But as Ira Glass of This American Life says, you have to create a certain amount of crap before you can create the really good stuff. Watch the Ira Glass video on creativity (this is the third in a series of four) on YouTube.

  1. Umm… can you be more specific about what you think is wrong here? Is it just that cotton-candy tree? Cuz spring is kinda like that, full of garish exuberance…
