God’s Call to Rejoice and Make a New Purse
I poured coffee into my Zen Bag Sunday morning, nearly right outside of Sister’s Fabric Shop doors, I believe I heard God speaking to me through that spill, saying:
“Kim! Thou shalt go into Sister’s, thou shalt find new fabrics — three new fabrics — and thou shalt make a purse to make your heart glad and your spirit rejoice.”
And since I always do what God says (shhh! Mother! I’m on a roll here…) I ran into the store — on a mission, you might say — and bought three fabrics that spoke to my rejoicing heart. (And of course that included a Kaffe Fasset!)
I made my “Quilt Gang” purse in September of 2008, and then the “Zen Bag” March of 2009 (shown right), I think it’s high time for a new purse! But I think it is time to retire my dancing mother from my front pocket, I’m deeply contemplating another photo (you bet I’m accepting bribes, Mommie…)
Time for one last, close look at the beautiful babe that I call Mom. She’s the one with the gorgeous legs on the far left (and no, I did not get those legs).
The picture was taken in the early 1960’s, she was part of a group of Air Force officers wives who had gathered together to form a USO-type group. Mother was normally a blues/jazz singer, but one of the dancers dropped out (or was relocated) and Mom took her place just in time for promotional pictures. She’s the best looking babe of the bunch, and I ain’t lyin’!

Go make the most of your day, God is with you!
