Out of Focus, but still, Stunning
I’m not going to complain too much about the fact that this photo is out of focus, I’m too stunned by the beauty of a Northern Flicker in flight. I had no idea that the flashes of yellow and orange were there. What a pleasant surprise!
Wow, are you kidding? This is amazing, a gift from God!

I think so too. 🙂
When we take the time to see within the stillness and solitude of the moment what gifts are in front of us, it is, indeed, a gift from God — a gift that is always there.
Happy New Year to You!!
P.S. Not having any TV for the last four days has helped me to see a LOT of gifts I’ve been ignoring … hmmm, life without television? I’m thinking about it …

We have flickers at our feeders every day and I’ve often found their feathers here and there. That orange is actually a beautiful salmon on close examination. Perhaps you see Cardinals where you are, I’ve never seen one at all. 🙂 Seasons best, Sharyn

Gorgeous Kim! It’s always a surprise to me too when you see so much color once those wings are outstretched. Happy New Year to you!

The Flicker certainly is a most beautiful bird! I always get very excited when I see one. It’s one of the first birds I i.d.’d by myself when I first became interested in birds. Nice shot, Kim.
